After over a decade of competition, I am very blessed to have been selected as a titleholder for incredible organizations. These are my placements and titles, but I think it is important to remind people that I walked away without a crown or placement, many more times than I walked away with one. Each loss was a lesson, so I never left empty handed. I believe that is one of the most valuable things I learned from pageants. 2.) What made you decide to compete in Miss Montana USA?
I enjoy the growth I experience through pageants, in fact, that is what I will miss most when I age out. I compete for the opportunities that pageants offer, both personally and professionally. The personal growth is always unexpected; I am surprised by the things I learn about myself, both strengths and weaknesses are revealed. Pageantry is humbling and confidence building at the same time. I cherish building new relationships with people, organizations, and the possibility, that the little girls I meet, along the way, will decide to compete in a pageant, and experience their benefits.
3.) Outside of competing in pageants, what do you like to do for fun?
Although I love trying new things, I have yet to tire of the repetition of a walk or bike ride to local restaurants, dance classes, visiting the library and checking out more books that I can read before their return date, watching UFC title fights, and visiting bodies of water, like oceans, lakes or even a hot bubble bath while wearing a detoxifying mud mask. If there’s water involved, I’m in.
4.) Give a brief bio about yourself
I grew up on the stage, began dancing at age two and singing in musical theater at fifteen, while cheerleading in high school. My first pageant was at age fourteen, and it taught me the importance of community service. Since that time, I donated countless hours to non-profits, and was recognized by the governor for outstanding service to the state. In 2013, I became the first in my family to graduate college, Magna Cum Laude, while earning a place on the Dean’s list, and Golden Key Honor Society. In 2014 I created Youtube channel Pageant Access. Although I currently work as a model, my ultimate goal is to develop my channel into a global brand and travel as a motivational speaker.
5.) If you win your state title, what do you hope to accomplish through out your reign?
Ideally I hope to capture the Miss USA crown, but before I get ahead of myself, I see some other great things along the way. The visibly of the USA organization, affords its title holders with influence and opportunity to work with sponsors, charities and address issues close to their heart. As an entrepreneur, I want more children and young adults to be aware of their career options and resources. I am a proponent of the non-profit, Score, which is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground. Inspiring others to live a life of their dreams, is something about which I am passionate. On a personal level, I hope to share about the loss of my cousin, Andrew Garcia, to a drunk driver. I want others to learn from my families experience, to end a crime that is 100% preventable. Lastly, I wish to talk about my youtube channel, who’s goal is to help young women achieve goals through pageantry. I witness its current impact in the lives of young women, but believe in greater potential for expansion, and development it into a trusted resource, which works to encourage all young women, who actively seek success.
6.) What is your dream job, besides Miss USA of course?
My dream is to grow my youtube channel so that I can become a full time Youtuber. I love reaching women, and pageant fans, around the world, to help them achieve their goals. Pageants hold a special place in my heart because of their roll in shaping my life; I love to give back to other contestants, as a way of paying it forward, for the wonderful things I experienced through pageants. I do not want to age out and let my advice and experience go to waste. Instead I desire to share it with others and celebrate their successes, just as others shared their advice and experience to help me succeed.
