Sarah Rogers - Miss First Coast USA 2017
Competing for Miss Florida USA 2017 on July 16th, 2016
1. How many pageants have you previously competed in?
This is my third time competing in the Florida USA system! I first started back in 2014 as a
Teen, then graduated in 2015 to Miss where i placed in the top 16 as Miss Jacksonville USA.
The pageant that started it all was my high school pageant, where I placed 2nd runner-up and
my talent was singing and playing the piano.
2. What made you decide to compete in Miss Florida USA?
The fact that it is broadcasted on television was what first caught my eye! I immediately knew
that I wanted to be just like those girls on the tv when my mom and I would watch it in our
living room. I then brushed up on my pageantry education and realized how rewarding the
experience was; I had to see what all the fuss was about! Being a veteran now, I know that
this title is way more than a sash and a crown… it is a prestigious job and I am ready to to
take on that role.
3. Outside of competing in pageants, what do you like to do for fun?
I absolutely love to travel and to bring my camera everywhere I go to capture special
moments. I recently have taken up photography, so now I’m getting to know what it feels like
to be at the other end of the camera instead of modeling! Other than that, cooking, working
out with my friends, and singing are all passions of mine.
4. Give a brief bio of yourself!
Hello my fellow pageant lovers! My name is Sarah Rogers and I am representing the beautiful
First Coast of Florida in the upcoming Miss Florida USA 2017 Pageant. I have a passion for
entrepreneurship and helping kids discover their talents at a young age. I have been a
business woman ever since I was thirteen years old, having my own jewelry company (which
especially comes in handy for pageants) and while in college, I am a freelance photographer,
graphic designer, and makeup artist. Singing is a passion of mine and I recently recorded my
first song, and with my title I was even able to perform the National Anthem at an NFL
Jacksonville Jaguars game! I am also so proud to be an ambassador for Pine Castle’s center
in Jacksonville for people with developmental and acquired disabilities, where our mission is
to empower these people and look beyond disability. I feel so blessed and honored to have
all of Northeast Florida behind me on my journey to the crown, and I hope to have all of
Florida cheering me on at Miss USA one day!
5. If you win your state title, what do you hope to accomplish throughout your reign?
After this competition I plan on continuing to keep my calendar full, traveling all over Florida to
support the things important to me and the Miss Universe Organization. Of course, I want to
bring light to my platform - looking beyond disability - and hopefully educate people that
humans with disabilities can often times do many of the things we can do, they just need a
little bit of our help. I would also love to show that Miss USA girls have talent as well, even
though we don't have to perform it on stage, and sing the national anthem or perform at as
many events as I can! The best thing that I can do as a titleholder is get out in the community
and be a positive role model, impacting as many people as possible and making a difference.
I want people to know that pageants are so much more than beauty competitions; we are
hard working and relatable women who strive to make the world a better place.
6. What is your dream job?
I am currently studying Graphic Design and Marketing in college, so my dream job would be to
be my own boss as a freelance graphic designer and also be a medical sales representative for
specialized surgical equipment (after I’m Miss Universe, of course)
