How many pageants have you previously competed in?
I've competed in the following pageants:
Miss Florida US Supranational 2015 - won
Miss Reina Intercontinental 2015 - represented USA in Costa Rica and won.
Miss Carnaval Miami 2015- won
Miss Florida USA 2016 - Top 16 placement
Miss Kendall USA 2017 - current position
What made you decide to compete in Miss Florida USA 2017?
I was lucky enough to compete last year for Miss Florida USA representing the Hispanic American women of South Florida and was blessed to place among the top 16 women of my state. This year I am back again not only fighting for my dream of becoming Miss USA, but striving to continue being a positive example to girls of all ages and teach them to not allow anything define who they are as a person. It doesn't matter what difficulty they are currently facing, everything is surpassable with the right mindset.
Outside of competing in pageants, what do you like to do for fun?
Ive danced my entire life and that is something that I continue to do on the daily. I have actually fallen in love with line dancing and have caught my self visiting Cowboys Saloon or Round-Up more frequently than ever. I guess you could say I'm a little mix of country and salsa!
Give a brief bio about yourself.
I am 21 years old, born and raised in the beautiful South Florida and of Cuban, Dominican and German decent. I am actually an honors psychology graduate and very proud of being able to represent and lobby for the Tourette Syndrome Association! Great Danes are a soft spot of mine. I currently have 4 great danes, Dino, KC And Maxie, which Maxie is albino, death and will eventually go blind. And I currently just adopted another Great Dane pup which I named Kali like California
If you win your state title, what do you hope to accomplish throughout your reign?
My father was diagnosed at a young age with Tourette and Tic Syndrome and one thing that he has always taught me was not never allow anything define who I am as Kassandra, or as a person in general. I myself have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and with his help I've not only fallen in love with my career path but have found my true passion in advocating for everyone's perseverance. If blessed with the title of Miss Florida USA 2017, I will travel the state of Florida and bring more awareness to the Tourette and Tic disorder and the Association. And always remember, nothing can stop you of achieving your goals. If you fall, you get up. And as long as you continue getting up, you're winning.
What is your dream job(besides being Miss USA, of course!)
Besides being Miss USA , working professionally as a psychologist amongst children and adults that suffer from mental and nerve disorders. Whether it's Tourette syndrome, OCD, hyper activity, or even autism. As long as I'm contributing in that field, any position I'd acquire I'd be more than happy with.
