How many pageants have you previously competed in?
I have been heavily involved in pageantry since the tender age of two. Winning numerous state titles, and many national placements. Below is a list of my wins and national placements:
Miss Illinois Princess 1999 (American Coed)
Miss Illinois Pre-Teen 2005 (National American Miss)
Miss Illinois Jr. Teen 2008 (American Coed)
Miss Illinois Teen 2011 (National American Miss) Placing 3rd runner up at nationals
Miss Illinois Teen 2012 (American Coed) Placing 2nd runner up at nationals
Miss Melrose Park 2013 (National American Miss) Placing 2nd runner up at nationals
Miss Illinois 2015 (International Junior Miss)
Ms. Illinois 2016 (American Coed) Placing 1st runner up at nationals
Throughout years of competing, I have won many runway modeling, spokesmodel, actress, and photogenic contests within American Coed, National American Miss and International Junior Miss. I have also competed in the USA system previously as a Teen and placed in the Top 10.
What made you decide to compete for Miss Illinois USA 2020?
I decided to compete for the title of Miss Illinois USA because this has been my dream since I was a little girl. All the pageants you do growing up are steppingstones to ultimately get you on a USA stage. With this being my last year of eligibility, I do feel like this is my time, and God has led me to this opportunity for a reason.
Outside of competing in pageants, what do you like to do for fun?
Other than pageantry, I enjoy practicing yoga, weight training, shopping, traveling, spending time with my family and friends, decorating my new condo, and being an advocate for the American Heart Association. As a working professional, I am also a Regional Recruitment Manager in the Human Resources Department for First Midwest Bank.
Give a brief bio about yourself.
My name is Lynzi Misuraca, I am 26 years old and was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I hold my Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree from Benedictine University in 2015. I was a college athlete playing soccer all four years. I was the captain my senior year and was awarded NACC (Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference) Scholar Athlete 2011-2014, Benedictine University Women’s Soccer Team Defensive MVP my senior year, and Benedictine University Academic Dean’s List 2011-2015. Currently, I am a professional print and tradeshow model working part-time for “About Face Models Inc.”, and I am a full-time Regional Recruitment Manager for First Midwest Bank.
I am a large advocate for the American Heart Association and am Co-Founder of a nonprofit organization called “Pageant Girls for a CURE”, solely benefiting the American Heart Association. This will be our 8th year, and I am proud to say that we have had much success and been featured on the American Heart Association’s commercials and advertisements. Additionally, invited to the “Go Red for Women” luncheon yearly, featured by Pageant Planet, and had our event captured by Comcast aired during heart health month in February 2019!
If you win your state title, what do you hope to accomplish throughout your reign?
Winning Miss Illinois USA will be a dream come true. Being able to walk the Miss USA stage has been a lifelong goal of mine. This title will allow me to make a difference by continuing to advocate for the American Heart Association. Through the ability to incorporate my platform into my year of service, while continuing to educate and raise money and awareness for the number one silent killer in women today, will enable me to make a difference.
What is your dream job(besides Miss USA of course)?
My dream job other than being Miss USA, is to continue in my HR career as Regional Recruitment Manager for First Midwest Bank. I have climbed the corporate ladder throughout my two years with the company. As the youngest female in this position, I am motivated to become a Vice President in a few short years. I believe a strong work ethic, perseverance and drive has gotten me to where I am today. My end goal is to stay with First Midwest Bank, grow professionally and personally, and become a top leader of the company.
