•How many pageants have you previously competed in? (Please include which system and your placement)
I have competed in a total of two pageants in the USA system. I previously competed in the Texas Teen state pageant of last year, where I placed in the top 15. This year I competed in Miss Houston Teen and was fortunate enough to receive the title.
•What made you decide to compete in Miss Texas Teen USA 2020?
I decided to compete in Texas Teen of last year, in order to step out of my comfort zone. Although I knew nothing about pageants I ended up having the best time. I met amazing girls, gained confidence, and left a better person than I had arrived. This experience led me to compete in Houston 2019.
•Outside of competing in pageants, what do you like to do for fun?
Outside of pageants I love to read, paint, shop, volunteer, watch Netflix, make target runs, cheer, and eat loads of queso!! I am always open to trying new things though!
•Give a brief bio about yourself.
I will begin my freshman year at the University of Houston August 19th! I will be majoring in English, and hope to minor in biology. I recently made the cheer squad, and am still deciding about rushing in the fall. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in either law or orthodontics.
•If you win your state title, what do you hope to accomplish throughout your reign?
Throughout my state title I would hope to accomplish not only the promotion of acceptance, but also the importance of self confidence. I would also like to continue to give back to my community on a broader platform, and set the example that “anyone can do anything.”
